NAME: Services Center Water Treatment Facility Upgrade

FUNDING: FY2023 Federal Community Project Funding via Rep Dave Joyce, Geauga County ARPA funding, and GCDWR County Water System Fund.
SCOPE OF PROJECT: Provide a 94,000-gallon storage standpipe, two high service pumps, required controls, ancillary piping/valves, including the replacement of the existing two onsite standby generators. The additional infrastructure will provide more water storage capacity and allow for additional maintenance flexibility.
Moreover, the University Hospital’s Geauga campus recently converted to this PWS. The upgraded infrastructure will be able to support the services provided by the hospital system to the community.
NAME: Merritt Road Sanitary Sewer Extension

SCOPE OF PROJECT: Extension of sanitary sewer service along Merritt Road. Includes 900 LF of sanitary sewer line, manholes, and a directional bore beneath Ravenwood Drive.
NAME: McFarland Creek WWTP Renovation & Upgrade
TOWNSHIP: Bainbridge Township
ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST: $30,824,400.00
CONSULTING ENGINEER: HDR Engineering Inc.
CONTRACTOR: Shook Construction Co.
FUNDING: OWDA Planning Loan $997,459 and FY22 EPA-STAG Grant $800,00.00. The Department was awarded ARPA funds in the amount of $5,000,000 from the County Commissioners. Balance of project is funded by a WPCLF loan as well as FY24 Federal Funds.
SCOPE OF PROJECT: The McFarland WWTP is currently under an Administrative Order on Consent with the U.S. EPA Region 5 requiring the County to improve the plant operations to meet the NPDES permit requirements and halt bypassing. The renovation and upgrade will include new headworks, oxidation ditches, clarifiers, and disc filters.
PROJECT SCHEDULE: Project is anticipated to commence in April of 2025 and will last for approximately 27 months.
