The Geauga County Laboratory is a division within the Water Resources Department. We are a multifaceted lab with capabilities that range in both water and wastewater analysis. Each of our analysts hold water  and wastewater certifications through the State of Ohio. Water Tests

Our most requested test for drinking water is the Total Coliform Bacteria, also known as the water potability test. This test determines the presence or absence of bacteria. In the event that total coliform is present in your private well water then a well chlorination should be performed at your earliest opportunity. Water tests are only accepted back certain days; call the office or the lab to find out when to drop off your water sample. In order to take these tests a pre-sterilized bottle must be purchased before water is drawn.
